Snowymountains Stock Horses

Snowymountains Stock Horses are based at Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains of NSW and Bowral in the Southern Highlands NSW. These two locations offer flexibility and convenience for both us and mare owners.

We believe the rugged conditions of The Snowy Mountains produces young horses that are tough, good on their feet and have the versatility and constitution that the Australian Stock Horse is famous for.

Based on a working cattle property ‘Old Ingebirah’, we also run a horse trekking business and have plenty of honest work for young horses.

The Bowral property offers an ideal location from which to stand our young sire Power N Passion, with first class facilities and is far more accessible to mare owners and in a workable proximity to Nowra Equine Breeding Facility.

We breed only a small number of foals each year working on the theory of quality not quantity. We are committed to breeding horses that truly reflect the Australian Stock Horse motto: ‘The breed for all needs’.

We require our horses to be tractable, pleasurable to ride, with the physical and mental abilities to handle any kind of terrain and any kind of job with ease.

It gives us great satisfaction to breed horses that can compete successfully in the campdraft arena, show ring, work cattle in the mountains all day or show an international guest what it is to ride a great horse in rough terrain.

Based upon the wonderful traditional lines of Australian Stock Horse breeding, bloodlines include Reality, Panzer, Abbey, Eliotts Creek Cadet, Chan and Nabinabah Gunner.

The stud has moved along to meet the current trends in ASH breeding while always aiming to breed horses of good type and athletic ability that are from commercially acceptable and well performed families.
